IMPORTANT: Lucid is not a financial advisor, investment adviser, broker-dealer, tax professional, or attorney, and nothing in the Lucid app or website is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All content, including AI responses, scores, and forecasts, is general education and information only, and may contain errors. Always consult a qualified professional, such as a certified financial planner, CPA, or attorney, before making financial decisions. You are solely responsible for your decisions.
This Financial & AI Disclaimer ("Disclaimer") applies to the Lucid mobile application, the website at trylucidfinance.com, and all related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Lucid, LLC ("Lucid," "we," "us," or "our"). Please read it carefully before using the Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to this Disclaimer.
1. General Information and Educational Purposes Only
All content, features, tools, scores, forecasts, charts, insights, and AI-generated responses provided through the Service are for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing in the Service constitutes, or should be interpreted as, financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice.
2. Lucid Is Not a Financial Advisor
Lucid is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, tax advisor, accountant, or attorney. Lucid is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, or any state securities regulator. No content in the Service is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who understands your individual circumstances.
3. No Advisory or Fiduciary Relationship
Your use of the Service does not create an advisory, fiduciary, or professional-client relationship between you and Lucid. We do not act as your agent or fiduciary, and we do not undertake to provide impartial advice or to act in your best financial interest in the manner required of a registered adviser.
4. About Our AI Features
The Service includes features powered by artificial intelligence, including the AI Chat assistant, contextual AI entry points throughout the app, AI-generated insights and recaps, AI-assisted budget generation, automatic transaction categorization, and AI-assisted planning tools. You should understand the following about all AI features:
AI can be wrong. AI-generated responses are produced by a large language model. They may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information; they may be incomplete; and they may occasionally state incorrect information confidently. AI outputs are not reviewed by a human before you see them.
AI responses are general information, not advice. Even when an AI response references your connected accounts, balances, or goals, it is providing informational context and general financial education. It is not providing a personalized recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or take any financial action.
Review automatic categorizations and generated budgets. AI-assigned transaction categories and AI-generated budgets are starting points that may be inaccurate. Because categorizations feed your scores, insights, and budgets, you should review and correct them; you remain responsible for how you budget and spend.
AI has no professional credentials. Responses are not generated, reviewed, or endorsed by a licensed financial professional.
Information is point-in-time. AI responses, scores, and insights reflect the data available at the moment they are generated. They may become inaccurate or outdated as your circumstances, your connected account data, or market conditions change.
Verify before you act. Do not make financial decisions based solely on an AI response. Verify important information independently and consult a qualified professional before acting.
We do not use your personal or financial information to train AI models. For details on what information is transmitted to our AI providers and how it is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
5. AI Outputs Are Not Recommendations
No output of the Service, including AI Chat responses, insights, alerts, categorizations, or planning results, is a recommendation, solicitation, endorsement, or offer by Lucid to buy or sell any security or other financial instrument, adopt any investment strategy, or take or refrain from any financial action. Any decision you make based on information from the Service is yours alone.
Scope of AI features. The Service's AI features are designed to provide education and information about everyday money management, such as understanding your spending patterns, budgeting, and saving. They are not designed to, and do not, provide advice regarding securities or investments, including which stocks, funds, bonds, or other financial products to buy, sell, or hold, or how to allocate an investment portfolio. If you have questions about investing, consult a registered investment adviser or other qualified professional.
6. Financial Health Score and Retirement Readiness Index
The Financial Health Score, Retirement Readiness Index, and similar metrics in the Service are educational indicators generated by fixed, rule-based calculations. They are designed to help you understand general aspects of your financial picture. They are not:
- credit scores or assessments of creditworthiness;
- measures used or endorsed by any lender, insurer, or government agency;
- professional evaluations of your financial condition; or
- advice to take any particular action.
Your scores may change as your connected data changes and should not be relied upon as a complete or authoritative measure of your financial health.
7. Forecasts, Scenarios, and Projections
Planning tools in the Service, including forecasts, scenario modeling, and projections, produce hypothetical illustrations based on the data available to us, simplified assumptions, and mathematical models. They are not predictions or guarantees of future results. Actual outcomes will differ, potentially significantly, due to market conditions, life events, inflation, taxes, fees, and other factors the models do not capture. Past performance and historical data do not guarantee future results.
8. Investment Information
Where the Service displays information about your investment accounts, holdings, or performance (available on certain plans), that information is provided for tracking and educational purposes only. Lucid does not evaluate, rate, or recommend any security, fund, asset class, or investment product. All investments involve risk, including possible loss of principal.
9. Third-Party Data
Financial account information in the Service is provided through third-party services, including Plaid, and depends on the accuracy and availability of data from your financial institutions. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Balances, transactions, and account details shown in Lucid may differ from your financial institution's records. Always verify current balances and transactions directly with your financial institution before making decisions or payments.
10. Read-Only Service; No Money Movement
Lucid is a read-only service. We do not hold, transfer, or move your money; we do not execute transactions, trades, or payments; and we never receive your bank login credentials. Nothing in the Service is an offer of banking, brokerage, custody, lending, or money transmission services.
11. Your Responsibility
You are solely responsible for your financial decisions, including any decision made using information from the Service. You are responsible for evaluating the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of any information provided, and for seeking advice from qualified professionals, such as a certified financial planner, CPA, or attorney, where appropriate for your circumstances.
Financial decisions may have tax consequences that the Service does not calculate, display, or account for. You are solely responsible for consulting a qualified tax professional regarding capital gains, deductions, and any other tax considerations before acting.
12. No Warranties
The Service and all its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
13. Limitation of Liability
Our liability relating to your use of, or reliance on, the Service or any information it provides, including AI outputs, scores, and forecasts, is governed by and subject to the Limitation of Liability section of our Terms of Service (Section 16). That section controls, and nothing in this Disclaimer expands or adds to the liability limitations and exclusions set out there.
14. United States Only
The Service is intended for residents of the United States. Information in the Service is not directed at, and is not intended for distribution to or use by, any person in any jurisdiction where such distribution or use would be contrary to law or regulation.
15. Changes to This Disclaimer
We may update this Disclaimer from time to time. We will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Disclaimer.
16. Relationship to Other Agreements
This Disclaimer is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. If this Disclaimer conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control. Our Privacy Policy separately describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
